The Children's dentistry is the branch of dentistry that deals with the treatment of children and adolescents.
One approach since the 3-4 years of age with the figure of a dentist it is important to establish a relationship with the children confidence and overcome anxiety states and psychological blocks .

In our study, each child is placed in a program for the prevention of dental caries through the execution of sealing, fluoride treatments and calls for regular hygiene .

What are the seals ?
The seals are a method of preventing tooth that acts at the level of the pits and fissures of teeth posterior ( premolars and permanent molars ) , difficult cleansing, where bacteria lurk more easily and settles dental plaque .

When it is shown to perform sealings :

  • Unfavorable occlusal morphology ;
  • Recent and complete eruption of ' permanent dental element ;
  • Absence of carious lesions ;
  • High cariorecettività of the patient;
  • Before you start orthodontic treatment ;
  • In patients with disabilities.


How to perform :
In the furrows and dimples in the tooth sealant is applied after cleansing and enamel etching .


Protocol individual administration of fluoride according to the EAPD :

  • From 6 months to 3 years: administration of 0.25 mg of fluoride per day for systemically (by mouth ) using tablets or fluoridated goccine.
  • From 3 to 6 years: suspension of systemic administration and the beginning of use of a low dose of toothpaste fluoride ( toothpastes for children) twice a day .
  • From 6 years onwards : Use two to three times a day at normal doses of fluoride toothpaste (toothpaste commercially) .

The recent international literature does not offer as mandatory fluoridation in the gestational period and the first months of the infant's life , in relation to the correct presence of fluorine in the lifestyle of developed countries (ex: in drinking water , the salt, toothpaste, etc. ... ).
